So much of what nonprofits are able to accomplish is driven by volunteer power. This is especially true in Sioux Falls.

When MaxEx set out to study the State of Sioux Falls Philanthropy, we knew we had to integrate the perspective of our community’s philanthropic leaders. These leaders not only lead in giving but also volunteering. They sit on boards of directors, campaign for various nonprofits, and encourage volunteer programs in their workplaces.

It is easy to think of philanthropy as only giving of treasure, but when we think of philanthropy as our community’s competitive advantage it makes sense that it is defined holistically as time, talent, and treasure.

To celebrate National Volunteer Month, we put together a snapshot of how volunteering can provide value to community, company, and employees.
