Here are 5 simple ways to make philanthropy a lasting resolution.
Start a Fundraiser: Choose an organization with a mission that resonates with you and organize a fundraiser during a meaningful time, like your birthday, the holiday season, or a relevant time of year for the organization, such as “kitten season” for a humane society.
Attend Local Events: Support nonprofits by participating in their events. Whether it’s a gala, a charity golf tournament, or a walk to end Alzheimer’s, there are events year-round that help organizations raise funds and spread awareness.
Raise Awareness on Social Media: Interacting with a nonprofit’s posts on Facebook, LinkedIn, or Instagram can make a big impact. By simply liking, commenting, and sharing, you amplify their message and reach, potentially attracting donors or supporters who can make a big difference.
Volunteer! Many organizations rely on volunteers. Reach out to a nonprofit that aligns with your passions or find a specific event where you can lend a hand.
Make a Financial Contribution: If you are able, consider donating what you can—whether it’s $10 or $10,000. Every contribution matters. You might also consider setting up a recurring donation at a smaller amount to provide ongoing support.
